Some friends and I recently decided to start a book club, and we’re meeting at the end of February to talk about Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn. We’re pretty excited, because we’re all first time book clubbers. Any tips for us?

So far in 2014 I’ve kept up a pretty good reading pace. I’m trying to read more and use my phone less before bed and during my lunchtime (my two favorite reading times!) I feel like it’s a better use of my time than scrolling through Facebook and Instagram.

I’ve made my way through 4 books in January, and I’m working on book #5. In February, I’m hoping to keep it up and get ready for the first book club meeting! Here’s what I’ve read so far:

The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling)

I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman by Nora Ephron

The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer

Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris

I try and keep up with new books that are coming out, but I feel like I always miss some – do you have any suggestions for what I should read next?
